St. Peter’s College Student Killed By Criminal Gang

The police are investigating a matter Vide CRB 101/19 of Njeru Police Station in which a student of St. Peter’s College, Jinja was killed by a criminal gang.

Police sources say Bonny Kibuuka, a senior two student was a member of a gang group named Mwanje Stage, a group in disagreement with another identified as Boyz Boyz at Mbiiko.

Against the above background, Boyz Boyz together with All Stars group waylaid Kibuuka before beating him up.

“It was 9pm when he was rounded up and beaten. Kibuuka was rescued by a one Magala and others who rushed him to Jinja referral Hospital in critical condition,” a source said.

Kibuuka was pronounced dead on arrival at Jinja Hospital.

Regional Police spokesperson, Hellen Butoto confirmed the incident.

Butoto said the incident happened at Kasanjja Cell, Njeru in Buikwe district.

She added that the matter was reported Michael Kibuuka, the deceased father.

Probed on the circumstances under which the 18-year old was killed, Butoto said the matter is under investigation and that she will give a detailed report appropriate time.

“We are continuing to investigate the matter. However, for now, it is alleged that the deceased belonged to a ascertain gang group known as MWANJE STAGE which is in biff with  BOYZ BOYZ both located at Mbiiko but In different villages. At 9pm on Thursday, a group of BOYZ BOYZ in conjunction with that of ALL STARS Jinja based rounded up the deceased & beat him up but he was later rescued by a one Magala and others who rushed him to Jinja referral Hospital in critical condition,” she said.

She added that the deceased body was removed from the Hospital before postmortem was done only to be returned after policing.

“So, as we talk, the body is at Jinja Hospital for postmortem. That will inform his cause of death,” she said.
