The police are investigating circumstances under which a man was stabbed to death while smoking from a pipe in a shrine.
The deceased only identified as Kizza was stabbed dead last night by Yohana Rwabahungu, 72.
The incident happened at Magala village, Kalangalo Sub-county in Mityana district at the home of Wilson Mugerwa, a prominent witch in the area. At the time, the deceased and his friend identified as Fred Kazahuza were smoking from a pipe.
Kazahuza, Mugerwa and his wife could not save the situation.
Kizza was pronounced dead on arrival at Mityana Hospital.
Regional Police spokesman, Norbert Ochom confirmed the incident. He said the suspect has been arrested to help in investigation and also help in establishing the motive.
Ochom noted that the scene has been visited by the scene of crime officers. Kizza’s body lay at the hospital mortuary pending postmortem.
The matter has been registered Vide SD Ref. 03/04//04/2019 as investigations in to the matter continues.
