The Uganda Tourism Board has apologized to the sector stakeholders over what they described as an unfortunate incident in which an American tourist and a Ugandan tour guide were abducted in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Outgoing UTB Chief Executive Officer, Steven Asiimwe was speaking at his farewell party when he asked government to step up security in parks to avoid a repeat of the Tuesday incident.
On Tuesday, four gunmen kidnapped Kimberley Sue Endecott and her driver, Jean Paul Mirengo Remezo near Katoke Gate in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Rescue operations are on in the region to rescue victims of the said kidnap.
