Meat ball chokes man to death at wedding, family says no need for postmortem

KABALE: The police are investigating circumstances under which a 36-year-old died after choking on a piece of meat.

Bernard Macumu, a resident of Rwakaraba B cell, Kyetobokire Parish in Northern division, Kabale municipality was reportedly having lunch at an after party of a one John Bosco Twinomujuni when he swallowed a piece of meat which got stuck in his throat.

He was pronounced dead at 4pm on August 25, 2019.

However, when the police were notified and initiated inquiries to establish the rightful cause of death, his family members said there was no need for postmortem because they saw what exactly killed their relative.

The matter has been recorded Vide SD 30/25/08/19 of CPS, Kabale.
