Maries Stopes Uganda has in a Tuesday statement called on the public to read LifeGuard box before use or contact them if the box is believed to be from batches 19040205 and 19050105.
All other batches, Marie Stopes says, are okay for use.
This, after the two batches failed to meet the quality.
“We have established that this is an isolated issue affecting these two batches. We are urging anyone with a box of LifeGuard to read the box and contact us if they believe it is from one of the affected batches,” part of Dr. Carole Sekimpi, Marie Stopes Country Director reads.
According to Marie Stopes, over half of the said condoms have been recalled.
“We have been working closely with the national Drug Authority and we have already been able to recall more than half of the affected condoms. We are also urgently working with the manufacturer to establish what went wrong and ensure all future batches meet the quality standards we and our clients expect,” Dr. Sekimpi adds.
