

The Opposition Forum for Democratic Change FDC party President Patrick Amuriat Oboi, National Unity Platform President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine), the ICU Council Chairperson Paul Sande Emolot and ICU Founding Members are bitter aftet they were denied a chance to speak at the send-off his highness Emorimor Augustine Osuban Lemukol.
It took the initiative of the National Resistance Movement NRM Vice Chairperson Eastern Uganda Capt Mike Mukula to recognize the Leaders after several speakers decided not to introduce the leaders despite their presence in the VVIP tent section.
Both leaders according to sources were both invited to attend the final sendoff of Emorimor in Abilaep village Serere district but in the day’s program they were not given a chance to greet or speak to the mourners.
It’s alleged that the said leaders were planning to deviate mourners from the burial program.
Mike Mukula while giving his speech noted that it was worthy to recognize other leaders of political parties present.
He noted that Political disunity is one of things affecting development of the region.
Patrick Amuriat Oboi while speaking to The Second Opinion revealed that it was shameful for the Organizing Committee to deny other political leaders to speak.
“Papa Osuban would have never wished for this kind of scenario to happen if he was Alive. It’s a total shame to the region and the country. I want to ask the organizers of such events not to repeat similar mistakes,” Amuriat said.
“Imagine they even didn’t allow the ICU council chairperson and Founding Members, it’s a total shame,” He added.
Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu also on his side rubbished the allegations that opposition members were going to turn the burial Political saying he had come to bury late Emorimor not to rally for political support.
“It’s shameful that Iteso leaders did this to us,” he noted.
Bishop Joseph Eciru Oliach of Soroti Catholic Diocese while giving his homily prayed to the people of Teso to advocate for peace and Unity.
He said that without unity the region will never develop.
He also hailed the late cultural leader as a person who loved his faith, treasured Mass and the Eucharist.
He knew what his faith taught him, Emorimor mourned for his sins and treasured a spirit of forgiveness.
“Bishop Eciru recognized Emorimor in his speech as an icon for peace, God fearing man and that his conscie at one point told him that he was going to be with the Lord.
Bishop Eciru also challenged the people of Teso to collect money for the construction of the palace other than waiting for Government support.
Her Excellency Jessica Alupo Epel the Vice President of the Republic of Uganda in her speech hailed Emorimor for his wise Leadership and asked other Teso Leaders to emulate his legacy.
She also asked the ICU leadership to take time to get a good Emorimor’s successor.
She encouraged them to practice consensus in all processes to avoid complicating the process of electing a new cultural leader.
