Angry locals disarm gunman like grasshopper, hand him over to Police

Ntinda Police Station has in custody an armed man after he was arrested and disarmed by vigilant residents of Kiwatule in what appeared a failed robbery attempt on Liquid Cash Emergency Loans.

Isaac Mulengenyi, 23, a resident of Gayaza is said to have approached the said business premise before firing bullets in the air to scare the business own and eyewitnesses but locals instead charged against him, giving him a chase.

He was cornered near Eliana hotel, beaten and later handed over to police.

Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman, Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the incident.

Owoyesigyire said the suspect has been charged with aggravated robbery.

His gun, a rifle and nine rounds of ammunition has been recovered.

The matter has been recorded Vide Vide CRB 123/2019 of Ntinda Police Station where the suspect is being detained.
