Another People Power mobilizer hospitalized after Eid attack

Singer, Lucky Joyce Bosmick Otim, a People Power pressure group mobilizer has been hospitalized. This follows Tuesday attack in which the police fired live bullets to disperse a group of people in Gulu town blocked his detention.
Otim and seven other university tudents had organized a rally at Gulu Main Market under the People Power Northern Uganda Chapter to address hundreds of people who included market vendors at Gulu main market. The  police however showed up and ordered them to abandon the rally which they denied. This prompted his arrest which was shortly blocked by his supporters in a rowdy rebuttal.

The action triggered protests from Gulu town residents and market vendors who started throwing stones at the police officers.
It is then that the police responded by firing live bullets in the air as some security operatives confiscated a public address system that was being used at the rally.
His fan’s reportedly overwhelmed police and freed him. However, during the stampede, Otim sustained injuries on the head and he was rushed to a clinic for medical attention. This comes though barely amonth after a People Power mobilizer in the northern district of Amolatar was ‘disabled’ by a bodyguard assigned to RDC Lilian Eyal. Junior Okot is currently receiving treatment at Kumi Hospital.
