Be Exemplary, AIGP Ubaldo Bamunoba Tells Police Officers in Busoga North

AIGP Bamunoba speaking to officers in Kamuli on Saturday.

The Chief Political Commissar (CPC) of the Uganda Police Force, AIGP Ubaldo Bamunoba, has urged officers in Busoga North (Kamuli, Luuka, Kaliro, and Buyende) to ensure and implement the sub-county policing model in a bid to curb crime.

AIGP Bamunoba is in the region on a rectification campaign and ideological orientation tour.

“Ensure you promote community policing; don’t sit in offices—let the communities feel they are part of you. Ensure community engagement; hold barazas with officers and listen to their problems,” said AIGP Bamunoba.

He urged officers to ensure a community policing-based approach if better service delivery and a fight against crime are to be achieved and to serve the community with diligence, integrity, and discipline, avoid involvement in any corrupt tendencies, respect for human rights, and customer care.

AIGP Bamunoba urged the officers to ensure full implementation of the sub-county policing model so as to achieve government programs aimed at poverty eradication, such as the Parish Development Model and Emyooga.

Above all, AIGP Bamunoba emphasized discipline among officers as he called upon senior officers to be exemplary to their juniors, protecting the image of the Force in the public.

The officers raised a few challenges affecting effective policing, especially on welfare and accommodation.

AIGP Bamunooba pledged to put the issues before the top management of the police for a solution.
