A Joint Security Task Force has Monday arrested two people driving with forged movement stickers.

Denis Besigye, driving motor vehicle registration number UBB 721K was arrested at Jinja Road checkpoint.

Nasif Luswata of car number UBE 599S is another person arrested over similar offences.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman, Patrick Onyango confirmed arrests.

He said their vehicles are currently parked at Police Headquarters, Naguru after the vehicles were impounded at Jinja Road road block.

“As security forces we promise to continue carrying out operations to arrest and impound vehicles that are on the road without authorized movement stickers. We appeal to members of the public not to be tempted to acquire forged stickers because our officers are on the lookout for such forgeries. Stay home, stay safe,” Onyango said.

Charges of forgery and impersonation have been preferred against Besigye and Luswata.
