Bishop Kazimba Mugalu installs Rev Canon Michael Mukhwana as new Archdeacon of Makerere St. John Church of Uganda Archdeaconry

The archbishop of church of Uganda Dr.Stephen Kazimba Mugalu has officially installed Rev Canon Michael Mukhwana as new Archdeacon of Makerere St.john Church of Uganda Archdeaconry with a homily message of urging Christians to love one another for the good of mankind.

Mugalu made the remarks over the weekend while officiating at the main mass and the Installation of Mukhwana as well as inaugurating the church to Archdeaconry status, an event attended by several retired Bishops.

He used the opportunity to lash out at those people who criticize him for not coming up with a strong voice to the injustices taking place in the country like the ongoing implementation of the trade order, continued detention of political prisoners among others.

He congratulated Rev Canon Michael Mukhwana upon his elevation to this important office saying the church community should offer him all the necessary support needed to serve the Lord.

He challenged the government to consider working on the road Network especially leading to faith-based institutions because they are places of spiritual nourishment as opposed to making good roads that lead to bars and lodges which are places of immorality.

The road leading to this church is very bad and we challenge KCCA to ensure it is fixed given that having elevated the church would come along with development projects which boost local revenue collection

He tasked Mukhwana and his team of servants to move out into the nearby communities which are challenged with a fibre of moral breakdown by actively recruiting the youth and women into the church ranks such that they can spiritually reform.

The new Archdeaconry shall supervise close to ten churches under its jurisdiction with emphasis to extending Christian faith messages to the citizens by urging the locals to embrace the Christian faith norms Mukhwana in his remarks thanked the church leadership under the stewardship of Dr.Mugalu for offering him the leadership mantle as we as elevating the church to serve the ever-growing numbers of Christians.

He pledged to work closely with the church leaders at various levels to ensure that their mandate was fulfilled and urged the Christian fraternity to join him in fostering both spiritual nourishment and development agenda of the church for the good of all stakeholders.

Several Bishops Emeritus and clergy graced the occasion in a show of Solidarity with Mukhwana who collectively appreciated the gesture and wished him good health and hard work
