Boda Guy Quizzed over IHK doctor murder

By Francis Otucu

Police detectives at Kabalagala Police Division have quizzed a boda boda rider who reportedly talked to Dr. Catherine Agaba in her final moments of disappearance.

Agaba went missing on April 13, 2019 from Muyenga in Kampala. She was on her way to the saloon. She never returned while her phones went off.

It was on Easter when a prime suspect, a security guard at her apartment led a team of security operatives to a septic tank where Agaba’s body was retrieved.

Three people including the said guard, Ronald Obangakene remain in custody.

Now, as the probe in to the matter intensifies, we can authoritatively confirm that Andrew Muyomba, a boda rider operating from IHK’s main gate was on Monday quizzed over his relation with the slain doctor and whether or not he was aware of any links leading to arrest of her killers.

Muyomba however told detectives that whereas Agaba phoned him on April 13, 2019 at 2:14pm, he was to drop her off at a new apartment she was to pay for that day so she could shift.

“The police at Kabalagala interrogated me about my relationship with agaba, but I told them she was a daily client and apart from transporting her home, I don’t know much about her,” Muyomba told the New Vision.

In an interview with the Daily Monitor, Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango said detectives are investigating links between the guard and other suspects currently in custody.

He said if the other suspects are found to be having a connection, they will also be prosecuted.

Agaba was a medical officer at International Hosptal, Kampala and is being laid to rest today at her ancestral home in Kashari, Mbarara district.
