Bukedea Comprehensive School Takes Academics By Storm, Leads Again

Bukedea comprehensive school has progressively moved to the top in the country’s  academics, talent tapping and hands on competences since it’s inception to serve the community in 2018, 

Professor Jonas Gumisiriza the resident managing director of the school said the first UACE  32 candidates sat in 2019 and 11 of them representing 32% made it to the university.

Professor Gumisiriza said in the recently released results on Friday UACE for 2024, Bukedea comprehensive academy registered 195 candidates and all of them qualify to do various courses in line with their combinations.

” This is a young school in the region but because of commitment towards the achievement of its mission and goals it has included itself among the top 100 schools in the country which is rare for a school to score in less than 10 years. Bukedea comprehensive academy given its excellence in academics, other talent tapping avenues in sports and hands on skilling the enrolment has grown to 3,800 students”,: Prof. Gumisiriza said.

He said that the school has gathered over 20 trophies in Eastern Region, Uganda and East Africa in sporting activities.

Prof. Gumisiriza highlighted that the results released had 3 candidates with 19 points,10 getting 18 points, 27 having 17 points, 46 scoring 16, 31 with 15 points,27 getting 14 points,26 with 13 points,12 got 12 points, 6 and 5 had 11 and 10 respectively.

The Right Hon. Speaker Annet Anita Among the proprietors of the school said it  was one of the touchy issues in her manifesto to bring qualified affordable education services to her people of Bukedea district, Eastern Uganda and the country at large.

Hon. Among who is also the member of parliament for Bukedea district said that  the growing enrolment in the School is resulting from performance and it’s affordable cost compared to the Kampala schools that charge triply higher than Bukedea comprehensive academy.

” This project has multiple institutions ranging from secondary school, technical, school of health sciences management and a teaching hospital which are all geared towards service delivery”, she said.

Nelson Omongin, one of the parents from Malera sub county said the manner the school administrators handle parents in terms of school fees payment is so friendly.

“In Bukedea progressive academy once a student gets  admission the school gives out pay codes that parents use to pay  fees unlike some schools where a parent is tasked to pay a commitment fee”,Omongin said.

Mrs. Akello Joyce Okwakol a mother of both Ajulong Juliet Faith and Adeke Esther Patience who got needy bright girls bursary lauded the speaker Hon. Annet Anita for opening up the good  future of her daughters.

Mrs. Okwakol said she got extremely joyous when Prof. Gumisiriza called them to pick admissions in which Rt. Hon. Speaker Among had committed to pay 100 % tuition.

As a family we have nothing to offer Hon. Among them for her kindness but only pray to God to give her health and continue with her heart to serve Bukedea.

 I call upon the people of Bukedea never to stop getting  strayed from  a person who has devotion to serve. This school deserves being in Kampala or Mukono if  Hon. Among was targeting getting money but given her focus of uplifting this region she preferred  to bring it at home.

Mrs. Akol Mary the Bukedea district chairperson lauded the speaker  Annet Among for her development which has sold  Bukedea to  the national map.

 The technical team at the school plays a pivotal role because if they are not committed,  attaining such good results will not be possible, “Mrs. Akol said.
