Bukedea MP Ikojo Blasts Bobi Wine, Amuriat over Emorimor Send off

Ikojo John Bosco the Bukedea County Member of Parliament (MP) has blasted the National Unity Platform (NUP) party president Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu and that of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Patrick Amuriat Oboi over their bitterness after they were denied to speak at a mammoth gathering during the sendoff of Itesot cultural king Emormor in Serere District over the weekend.

 Speaking to The Second Opinion Hon Ikojo John Bosco said that the two opposition leaders should stop mixing politics and culture.

“It was a cultural event and not a political function ,  NUP  president Robert Kyagulanyi and FDC boss  Patrick Amuriat should stop mixing culture with politics and it is clearly spelt out in our constitution” Hon Ikojo John Bosco told us.

He said that the problem with the opposition politicians in Uganda, they want to politicize everything, yet some functions are purely cultural.

The two could not be allowed to disorganize the gathering, by speaking politics and if they were cultural leaders the organizers’ could have given them audience, added MP Ikojo.

According to sources, security were tipped that the two opposition politicians had planned to use the burial ceremony of Emormor to mobilize support for their political parties something that could have diverted the motives of mourners.

Although both Bobi Wine and Amuriat refuted the accusations and instead blamed the ruling NRM Government of being scared of opposition by continue denying them platforms to address the nation on issues of national importance.

Meantime a delegation is set to be constituted from various clans of Ateker fraternity to spearhead the election of a new Emormor of Iteso soon.

 ICU Constitution, the ICU Council Chairperson takes the office of Emorimor in case of death for at least six months before the next Emorimor is elected and installed.

But circumstances at the moment don’t allow the ICU Council including the chairperson to operate since it was suspended by Emorimor before his death.

According to Alloch, the institution will be run by the cabinet and founder members until the next Emorimor is elected.

MP Ikojo says that he is not interested to become the next Emormor for now he still wants to serve his people politically.
