Bunoyoro Kitara Kingdom has Friday rejected the appointment of Alex Mwine as new Hoima District Police Commander.
Hoima is host of the Kingdom.
Owing to Mwine’s background in attacking cultural meetings, Bunyoro Kingdom say Mwine is of questionable character.
Addressing the media Friday afternoon, Kingdom premier, Owek Andrew Byakutaga, said he has written to the Inspector General of Police, Martins Okoth Ochola, asking him to rescind the decision. They argue, Hoima deserves an officer of good discipline and integrity.
Mwine and his boss, Bob Kagalula (regional Police Commander), have been implicated in teargasing Mbobo clan members at a cultural meeting in Mityana last weekend. As a result, they were dropped and sent to Hoima and Bukedi North as DPC and RPC respectively.
