Court Awards Besigye Shs10m In Damages

High Court Judge Musa Ssekaana has awarded opposition honcho, RTD Col. Kizza Besigye Shs10m in damages.

Sitting today, court ruled that the police violated Besigye’s rights in 2016 after he was arrested shortly after arriving at the Entebbe International Airport on his return from abroad.

The defendants are also to meet cost of the case.

Recently, court also awarded FDC Women League leader, Ingrid Turinawe Shs170m in damages following an ‘indecent’ arrest by police in Nansana seven years ago.
