Kibuku County Member of Parliament, Hebert Kinobere has urged the public to instead support their MPs who took the Shs20m COVID-19 cash, rather than brand them enemy of development.
This, after MPs recently pocketed Shs20m each, off suplimentary budget, to support their people in the fight against COVID-19.
Kinobere argues that MPs have a big task to play in their constituency and that they can’t do it alone.
He said that the 20million which was allocated to every member is to benefit the constituency not an individual benefit.
According to Kinobere, MPs do not have budget allocations to look after problems in their respective political constituencies and that most of the money spent in their areas is part of their own salaries, which he said, may not be enough to cater for problems of the voters.
He noted that the money would help in the mobilization of locals about the on- going worldwide fight Vs the pandemic.
“Support your MPs who picked the Shs20m. They did well. Those who rejected that Covid-19 cash are your enemies because they rejected the money at a time you need it,” Kinobere said.
He asked MPs willing to return the money to instead pass it on to him so he can sort out problems dogging Kibuku than return it to the treasury.
Kinobere added that his people need food, most especially now since government lone may not be in position to reach every household.
