The National Identification Registration Authority (NIRA) has Monday evening announce one of its staff tested positive for COVID-19. The person is under case management, NIRA said in a statement. For two days, NIRA’s Kololo headquarters will remain closed for disinfection. Offices will be reopened Thursday. This means that National ID issuance, issuance of birth and death certificates, fresh ID registrations and replacement is suspended. “Clients may however access services from any other NIRA District and Division offices nearest to them,” part of the statement reads.
