Fear has rocked ministers and their families after they were subjected to compulsory COVID-19 testing.The ministers were today forced to test after months of merely commenting on the matter without practically getting tested.The ministers were yesterday served with messages asking them to report to the president’s office and get tested for the deadly Virus In some of the pictures, some of the ministers are seen being placed on a chair and medics carry out tests on their saliva and mucus. “It’s a state of panic among some of them because it’s not clear if they got into contact with infected persons. They are waiting for their results and most of them have developed low appetite because of anxiety” says a source in parliament.We established that several of the ministers are worried after the PM Ruhakana Rugunda tested negative but some of his contacts tested positive. Rugunda has since gone into self isolation.”Remember he chairs cabinet and the other day he turned up in parliament without a mask. Another minister Sarah Opendi was denied access to cabinet after she was accused of being a vector because she came into physical contact with her hubby and fellow MP Katushabe who had just returned from one of the COVID-19 infested countries. The minister acting under pressure from fellow legislators even threatened to resign her seat if she was found positive. She rushed to health Ministry for testing and was found to be negative. She tabled the results before parliament.
