COVID-19: Uganda Turns Away 21 Infected Truck Drivers

The ministry of health has reported that a total of 21 truck drivers have been sent back to their countries after testing positive to the deadly Corona Virus.This was yesterday Thursday. Dr. Henry Mwebesa, the director general Health Services, says following the presidential directive not to allow positive truck drivers to enter the country, this has enabled Uganda to continue registering less numbers which are below 300.He said that yesterday, a total of 2729 samples were tested of which 15 new cases were found positive with COVID-19. Among these, 10 cases were truck drivers while 5 were among community samples.The truck drivers arrived via Elegu border, and that these are already being tracked. With this reporting of new cases, the total number rides to 160.President Museveni recently decreed that all truck drivers be tested at the border and only those who test negative should be allowed into the country.
