The police are looking into possible inside job orchestrated Friday morning on the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway, an incident that led to the killing of Princess Maya Kamikazi and Joshua Ntereho Ruhegyera.
Insiders say there is also the line of an unspecified amount of money that was reportedly in the car, most especially after a failed car deal.
The said money is missing.
Before driving to the expressway where the pair met their death, the deceased met a one Robert Soobi at Millennium Hotel in Zzana.
The discussion was related to car sale.
Not much is not whether the deal was concluded.
A police officer with Tourism Police was arrested after his gun, an AK 47 rifle No. UG POL. 56-31006990022697 with bullets, was allegedly recovered from the scene.
This news site understands that the police officer signed for the same gun on Thursday evening from Entebbe Police Station before heading out to an unknown guard post in Entebbe Municipality.
Upon arrest, the policeman allegedly told police detectives investigating the killing that the Ruhegyera, who he knew, was related to the First Family, went to him and asked him to escort them somewhere to pick up some unspecified amount of money.
It is against the above background that PC Davis Taremwa was arrested. Two other police officers have also been arrested to help in investigation.
Well-placed sources linked the investigation with an argument that the car (registration number UAW 534D) in which the pair and others were driving in, stopped normally without it having to skid off the road.
Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga correlated our story Friday in a statement.
He said the police have taken to find out whether the gun was fired in close range and whether or not gun powder is on Taremwa’s clothes or his thump.
“We believe that the evidence gathered thus far, will enable us determine whether the shooting occurred from within the car, whether there was an altercation in the car, a transaction gone bad, drive-along shooting or a murder and suicidal incident,” Enanga said.
