Entebbe mayor Rulinda concerned with poor sanitation in his town

The Entebbe Municipality mayor has expressed concern on the poor sanitation and hygiene within the town.

Mayor Fabrice Brad Rulinda noted that in order to address the sanitation problem, Entebbe Municipal council has decided to partner with security agencies to conduct monthly clean up exercise to restore its golden days when it was once ranked the cleanest town in 2013 after scoring 68.7% in a survey which ranked over 100 towns, municipalities and divisions on cleanness, sanitation and hygiene.

Mayor Rulinda who launched the community service clean up exercise, said he was dismayed with the dirty environment in which most people operate, especially within Entebbe town.

He added that the dirty environment is aggravated assault by churches that have made it a habit to make noise in the area saying they risk closure in the event they continue with noise pollution.

Maj. Moses Mugisha Ilimaso, the Acting Public Information officer for the Uganda People’s Defence Airforce (UPDAF), urged locals in Entebbe to ensure they operate in a clean environment and also take on tree planting campaigns to conserve the environment.
