EXCLUSIVE: Woman on travel stops to pee, raped by security guard, tests HIV positive

By Francis Otucu

The police at the Central Police Station, Mbarara have started a hunt for two security guards attached to G4S for raping a traveler and aiding escape respectively.

The said guards, unidentified, raped Miriam Nasarire, 28, at 5am in Mbarara town Wednesday morning.

Investigators say Nasarire traveled by bus from Kampala and that upon reaching Mbarara, she opted to go and ease herself in a nearby corridor.

However, she was quietly followed by a guard who raped her under gun threat.

Boda boda riders who responded to her alarm found the guard on top of her and in the act amid what appeared resistance from his victim.

However, their hopes of arresting the suspect was shortened as the guard’s colleague responded, threatening to shoot the victim’s saviors.

The second guard aided both their escapes.

The police now say they are working with their supervisors in a bid to bring the suspects to book.

VICTIMS TESTS POSITIVE

Sources say the woman was examined on PF3A, hours later. She was found to be HIV positive. She could not be put on Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP).

This news site understands that the matter is being probed Vide CRB 097/2020 (Rape) of CPS, Mbarara.
