Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has said it will not honor Inter-Party of Organization for Dialogue.
This, we understand followed a high-level meeting held yesterday at party headquarters in Najjanankumbi.
“The reason is that the conditions that stopped FDC from Munyonyo IPOD meeting have not changed, but instead gotten worse. And the party position is legitimate. FDC has had its assemblies and meetings invaded by security, teargas leaders inside halls and disperse meetings. That is criminal,” a source knowledgeable to the Sunday meeting said.
To confirm this, a Monday statement, a copy seen by this news site shows that FDC is still “under siege” by security agencies “curtailing the party’s rights to associate and assemble”.
The next IPOD meeting is scheduled for May 15, 2019 in the northern district of Lira.
