Former mayoral candidate in hot soup over missing gold

Emmanuel Kaweesi, one of the candidates in the recently concluded elections has been linked to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) missing tonnes of Gold.
It’s alleged that Kaweesi entered a transaction of the precious mineral with one of the army Generals from the DRC where 15 tonnes were supplied to him. However, the consignment is said to have been stolen from the DRC government stores in early 2020.
It is also revealed that when Kaweesi got to know that the deal had gone bad, he started using his workers to shield him from the angry detectives who were trailing him.
Preliminary investigations show that Kaweesi is in possession of the largest percentage of the said consignment.
One of Kaweesi’s workers (name withheld for fear of foiling investigation) says his boss has valuable information in line with the missing gold and that at an appropriate time, should his boss decline to reveal his dealings to detectives, he will have no option but to expose him.
