HELP US! Amb. Onyanga’s family wants Shs9m for his burial

The family of fallen Uganda’s Head of Mission and Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other International Organizations, Ambassador Christopher Onyanga Aparr wants Shs9m to help clear part of what remains of the burial expenses.

This is a catered for in a message to family, friends and relatives at the weekend.

“Good morning brothers and sisters. The good news is that the remains of our brother Ambassador Christopher Onyanga Aparr was well received very early this morning by our able chairman organising Committee Dr Joel Okullo Odom, Corn Amai and others. We thank them for the relentless and tireless effort rendered. Mama Kezia and Carolin, the daughter accompanied the casket. Today is their day one at the mandatory 14 days quarantine.The funeral and burial program will be released soon. We are now into the most critical and important period concerning all the relevant ceremonies related  to Christopher’s send off. We need money. Some little contributions have come in so far. We have a short fall of Uganda shs: 9 million. I encourage all of us to do whatever we can to off set this short fall. In this regard, no amount of money is too small. Good day.” the message reads.

Ambassador Onyanga died on June 11, 2020 in Geneva, peacefully, in his sleep. His body returned home last Saturday. His widow, Kezia and orphan Caroline who returned with the same flight were sent straight to a 14-day mandatory quarantine.

Burial arrangement is yet to be communicated.
