Hotel Africana is the latest to partner and sponsor Cares 2020 Tour of Uganda. The tour is a charity activity led by Venessa Nansamba, the 2019/20 Miss Uganda North America. It runs from February 24-March 8, 2020.
“We would like to welcome Hotel Africana to our esteemed list of travel partners! Located right in the middle of Kampala, our beauty queens will have access to all the beautiful spots that the city has to offer, while enjoying the serenity that every tourist desires,” organizers of the tour say in the statement.
Hotel Africana is one of Uganda’s longest-serving luxury hotels. It is a 40-minutes drive from Entebbe International Airport and 3 minutes from the city center. The hotel also provides affordable long term stay options.
Ms Nansanba is being accompanied by Miss Oregon USA, Katerina Villegas who is a doctorate student and a future Clinical Air Force Psychologist. She also has two songs that have made the Billboard charts.
Other agencies that have come in to sponsor the tour are; Uganda Tourism Board, Equity Bank and Nile Safari Lodge among others.
Ms Nansamba, 25, is a medical School aspirant and won the Miss Talent Competition at the 2019 Beauty Pageant, which was held in Chicago at the Hyatt Regency Chicago on August 30, 2019, before going on to give the best answers in the final rounds to take home the crown.
Vanessa currently holds a BA in Biological Sciences and a Masters in Biomedical Sciences. She plans to apply to Medical School. She has done mental health research among minorities and taught at a college.
Among the places planned for Ms Nansamba to visit is Katanga slum in Kampala.
