HUMAN TRAFFICKING: Police rescue 8 students

Kampala Metropolitan Police has rescued eight students from an unlawful confinement.  

The students are; Ainembabazi Joshua, 14, a student of Turkish Light Academy along Entebbe road, Muwanguzi Enrich, 17, a student of Lake side College, Luzira, Nabasa Micheal ,14, a student at Trinity Accademy, Musinguzi Simon ,17, a senior four student at Kings College Budo, Byamukama Jesse Kasaruza ,22, a student at Makerere University, pursuing  Bachelor of Industrial Fine Art, Ssebunya Benedict ,18, a student of Munta Royal College Bombo and Turyasenga Daniel  ,22, a security Guard of a building in Mutungo, Nakawa Division.

They were being held by Godfrey Kutesa, an officer attached an elite guard, the Special Forces Command (SFC) with intent to traffic them to Middle East.

He has been arrested to help with investigation.

“Yesterday we received information from the area chairperson that some students were illegally confined in a home and were undergoing military training. When we interrogated the suspect, he said parents of the Children had brought them to him for training which is illegal,” Deputy KMP spokesman, Luke Owoyesigyire said.

Kutesa is currently being detained at Jinja Road Police Station in Kampala.
