The office of the Regional Inspectorate of Government (IGG) in Kabale district has apprehended six Rubanda District Local Government officials for allegedly embezzling UGX 107 million meant for the implementation of district development activities.
The IGG enforcement team led by Noeline Nsungwa , took action following thorough investigations, and today on March 2,2026, her team raided the Rubanda District Headquarters and successfully arrested six greedy civil servants for allegedly diverting UGX 107,688,900 million into their personal use.
Nsungwa, who executed the arrest said the suspects have been transferred to Kampala where they are expected to be arraigned before the Anti-Corruption Court to answer corruption charges. She, however told the press that she will update them on when the accused persons will appear in Anti corruption Court after confirmation from the trial Judge.
The arrested money hungry officials include Benon Kahangi, the District Production Officer, Stephen Buregyeya – Senior Treasurer, Sixtus Ahabwe – Assistant Veterinary Officer, Owen Atuhaire – Assistant Inventory Management Officer, Pamela Musimenta – Assistant Agriculture Officer, Kwizera Wilson – Assistant Agriculture Officer and Nicholas Karuhanga the Director Hummer Consults Co. Ltd.
