The Inspector General of Police has camped in Kasese to follow closely rescue effort after gunmen on Tuesday evening kidnapped American national and her driver near Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Highly placed sources have told us that Martins Okoth Ochola traveled to Kasese last evening.
Security in the area has been heightened to avert possibility of the captors fleeing from the region.
The police said last night that they believed captors were still trapped within the region. Movements in and out of the region have been restricted.
A joint team of the police, army and wardens are heading rescue operations.
The whereabouts of Kimberley Sue Endecott, an American and her driver, Jean Paul Mirengo Remezo remain unknown.
Last evening, it emerged that kidnappers were using a mobile phone belonging to one of their victims to solicit USD500, 000 ransom from authorities.
Heavy security deployment remain on the ground to trace the duo’s captors.
