Isimba Dam: Drowned Engineers’ Bodies Retrieved, Identified

Bodies of Simon Male Kato, 23 and Thomas Munyawugamba were retrieved yesterday by the police marine and local fishermen.

The pair, working as expert engineers had reportedly gone there to do maintenance works in the turbine area.

Ssezibwa Regional Police spokesperson, Hellen Butoto confirmed recovery of the bodies.

Butoto however revealed that the deceased had not notified authorities of their presence in the area saying it posed difficulty for the rescue team.

According to Butoto, investigations in to their drowning is on-going.

By press time, the deceased bodies were at the city mortuary awaiting postmortem exercise.
