The issues dogging Kira Police Division Criminal Investigations officer, Maliserino Mulema is not about to end.
Latest is that City land dealer, Yusuf Ssemakula has rushed to Professional Standards Unit (PSU), tasking the force’s professional body to probe Mulema on allegations on corruption, fraud, incompetence and abuse of office.
In a letter dated January 27, 2020 and received at PSU on January 28, 2020, Ssemakula, through his lawyers of Lukwago & Co. Advocates say the allegations of professional misconduct involving Mulema stems from land comprised in Kyadondo Block 185, Plot 385 at Kito, Kira Division, Namugongo.
According to Ssemakula, he is the substantial owner of the said land. However, he notes that recently, he was attacked by a one Tugume Winne with intent to evict him from the land.
This, he says, was in connivance with Mulema.
He says, in the process of eviction, one person-Byaka was shot dead.
Investigations into this killing has since failed as Mulema has conflict of interest in the matter. Instead, a case of criminal trespass was filed as opposed to murder.
These claims amount to corruption, conflict of interest, incompetence and abuse of office.
SUMMONED
Meanwhile, sources at PSu say Mulema has been summoned to respond to allegations of corruption and fraud against him.
He is expected to appear before the PSU at Bukoto on Wednesday at midday.
