Kyabazinga of Busoga William Gabula Nadiope IV has warned Kingdom officials against selling land that belongs to the Kingdom.
Kyabazinga sounded the warning while presiding over his 9th Coronation Anniversary celebration at Namungalwe saza ground in Kigulu Chiefdom, Iganga district on September 13th, 2023. The ceremony was attended by Thousands of his subjects.
“This is a special announcement, ObwaKyabazinga Bwa Busoga Institution does not sell its land, it just leases it out and among the leases that have so far been issued out there is no individual lease given out apart from giving organisations that develop ObwaKyabazinga Bwa Busoga,” the Kyabazinga said.
He advised those who claim to have plots on Busoga Kingdom’s land to go to Busoga Kingdom headquarters in Bugembe and re verify their documents.
He said he can also give express powers of attorney Busoga to Kingdom’s Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Muvawala and they are also registered under the Uganda Registration Services Bureau.
“It is only me who is entitled to give out leases on Busoga Kingdom land” Kyabazinga said
The First deputy Prime Minister and Minister of East African affairs Rt. Hon Alitwala Rebecca Kadaga read President Yoweri Museveni’s speech and wished the Kyabazinga of Busoga for getting a wife,
Kadaga also introduced Busoga Tourism queens led by Miss Tourism Busoga Mercy Tenywa to me Kyabazinga and Busoga at large.
She congratulated Kyabazinga upon getting Inhebantu.
In his message, Busoga Kingdom’s Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Muvawala announced a committee that will be led by Eng. Batumbya will organize the wedding ceremony of the Kyabazinga and his wife / Inhebantu of Busoga slated for November 18th, 2023 at Christ Cathedral Bugembe.
The Kyabazinga later cut a cake which he served to his subjects.
