Lake Victoria School: Gen. Rwakitarate, Alumni Face-lift School

In a bid to beautify the school structures that were in faded state, Maj. Gen. Moses Rwakitarate, the commander of vital assets in UPDF, and Entebbe Division ‘A’ speaker, Complex Kafeero, plus fellow alumni have stepped up efforts to refurbish and repaint glorious Lake Victoria school structures. 

Maj.Gen. Rwakitarate, who attended Lake Victoria School for 7 years, says he was not pleased with the looks of the school structures. To express his concern, he responded by buying chain links and concrete poles to fence off the whole school and also to give it a facelift. In the same vein, Entebbe Division ‘A’ Speaker Complex Kafeero, has sponsored the repainting of the school Administration Block, while Baker Kamya class of 2010, generously sponsored the repainting of the school main hall, on top of fixing broken glasses on it.

Other alumni fixed two new beautiful gates, the main gate and the exit gate, in addition to installing a modern pole, which hosts the school flag.

The school Headteacher, Stephen Nabende, in an exclusive interview with the media, said he was grateful to the school alumni, who are concerned with the state of their former school, by sacrificing some money to give it a complete facelift . He, however, scoffed at his haters who were posting faded school structures on social media, saying their attempt to decampaign his abled leadership is no longer any more.

Hardworking soft spoken Nabende revealed that through contributions from the old students and well wishers, the school has been able to install four powerful solar panels each with a capacity of 150 watts. He says following the installation of these solar panels, the school now saves Shs. 450,000 per month  in electricity bills.

He added that through proceeds in last year’s marathon, the school has been to install a mega water harvest tank with capacity of 10,000 liters plus a smart tank (1,000 liters) for purification of drinking water for learners. He asserts that these two water tanks have helped the school to reduce its monthly  budget in terms of fuel and paying utility bills, saying every month the school saves Shs. 150,000 in water bills.

Nabende also revealed that the school has been able to renovate its waterborne toilets in addition to providing more single seaters for the ever growing school population. 

He further disclosed that because the school offers quality education to learners, and it has been consistent in excelling in national exams,  as a token of appreciation in the coming financial year 2024/2025, Entebbe Division A has pledged to renovate the lower section of the school by removing all the asbestos and replace them with strong iron sheets, thanks to Speaker Complex Kafeero.

Mr.Nabende notes, that all the achievements the school has so far attained, have been made possible thanks to good cooperation with the municipal education authorities, headed by sexy Joyce Nalubega, plus parents, who have supported the school projects wholeheartedly.
