Locals in Entebbe Division ‘B’ have demanded the administration of Entebbe Municipal council to address their grievances. They aired out their grievances on February 20,2025, during a community engagement meeting with officials of Entebbe Municipal council held at Lubigi grounds in Entebbe Division ‘B’.
Led by Lugonjo ward NRM Chairperson , Joseph Nsamba, locals accuse the enforcement team of soliciting bribes instead of offering quality services to them , something the Entebbe Townclerk pledged to investigate and address with immediate effect.
Locals appreciated the council for renovating government schools but are concerned that quality of education is still wanting something the municipal Education Officer Joyce Nalubega refuted saying most of the government schools post good results in the national exams.
Locals also accused council of being unfair when taxing businesses and asked council to levy taxes based on the size of the business, something the Townclerk concurred with and instructed his team to levy taxes based on the size of the business for purposes of fairness.
Locals further decried the unfairness that characterized the allocation of lockups in the recently reopened Kitooro taxi Park revealing that most of the lockups were allocated to councilors whom they have vowed to vote out in 2026 general elections.
They also claim that disbursement of emyoga and Parish Development Model funds was politicized and that the majority of the beneficiaries subscribe to the ruling party while their counterpart in the opposition were left out.
In his response, Townclerk Emmanuel Gacharo Mugisha, pledged to iron out all issues affecting locals saying he inherited most of these issues. He assured locals that his office is committed to serving all people regardless of one’s political affiliation . He pledged to hold more community engagement meetings arguing that such meetings enable locals air out their grievances and this enables council to understand them and consequently act upon them.
