Lt Col Nakalema: I won’t close my eyes on corrupt gov’t officials

The head of State House Anti-Corruption Unit, Lt. Col. Edith Nakalema has pledged never to close her eyes on corrupt government.

This, she said is because she is serving God and her country Uganda.

Nakalema was Tuesday address students undergoing a Special Investigations Course at Muhooti Barracks in Fort Portal, Kabarole district when she asked UPDF officers to be exemplary and join her in the fight against corruption in the country.

She also called upon the students to teach and sensitize the public about the dangers of corruption while at the same time instilling a culture of dedicated selfless service in all issues that propel the growth of a nation.
“There is need for everyone to fight corruption right from the grass roots to the top if we are to have a corrupt free country. Refer to Article 17 (1)(i)of the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda which spells out the duties of a citizen one of which is to combat corruption and misuse or wastage of public property,” noted Lt Col Nakalema.

The lecture was also attended by Stephen Asiimwe the RDC Kabarole District as well as Commandant School of Military Intelligence Lt Col James Muhumuza among others.
