Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor, Finance and Administration, Prof. William Bazeyo, has resigned.
In a message to colleagues, Prof. Bazeyo, who has lately been dogged by queries on the authenticity of his PhD paper, and recent probe into the cause of fires on university’s Ivory Tower, said his resignation is for personal and family reasons.
The resignation takes immediate effect, he wrote.
His resignation means he has dropped off the list of contenders for substantive DV F& A job. Bazeyo, in the said message, apologized to those he may have offender, knowingly and unknowingly, during the course of his duty.
While Bazeyo resigns, it is worth noting that the latest fire on the main university building started from accounts department, a unit directly supervised by Prof. Bazeyo as he served as Ag. DVC F&A.
He remains a professor of occupational medicine at Makerere University.
