State minister for finance in charge of general duties Eng. Gabriel Ajedra is under fire by fellow legislators accusing him of trying to water down president Museveni’s perceived strong ‘stamina’.
This comes after the minister decided to release a video captured at his home in which he seemed to show that he is more fit than the president. It should be remembered that Museveni yesterday released a video of himself as he did pressure ups inside his house.
The president did this as he tried to explain to the masses that physical fitness exercises can still be done indoors instead of risking lives by storming roads.
The president as such released his own video as part of his practical explanation to the people; but Ajedra has since jumped from the main objective of releasing this video to digging holes into the president’s stamina.
In his video released yesterday, Museveni who was dressed in casual wear, showcased his stamina by making 30 push-ups non-stop prompting one of his ministers Ajedra to challenge him.
The controversial minister from West Nile released his own video where he made 40 rounds of push-ups; hence attracting furry by members.
His cabinet colleague John Byabagambi (Karamoja minister) wondered why Ajedra waited for the president to initiate his own project and he also jumped on it.
“Why didn’t he show us before HE initiated it” Byabagambi says.Another MP Anna Maria Nankabirwa (Kyankwanzi woman) warned the minister against trying to portray his master as an amateur.
“Risk. Never outsmart your master. Law number One” she says.Another member Patrick Nsamba Oshabe blasted the minister for trying to show that Museveni is too old that he can only manage to make those few push-ups.
“Why does he do more than 30? Does he want to challengeJjajja? Show some respect to the old man” he warned as Paul Mwiru; the Jinja west MP also predicted that Ajedra may be headed for a sharp knifing for acting contrary to the bigman.”He (Ajedra) has won his boss. Does he still have a job?” He wondered.
The president; in realising his video however, never talked of showcasing his prowess but instead he said he wanted to show to the joggers that it was possible that one could do physical exercises indoors.
The president thus banned outdoor (roadwork) fearing that this could be a fertile ground for spreading Corona virus.
Some MPs are now demanding that Ajedra should withdraw his video which has since gone viral or explain the motive of releasing it.
