Minister Muyingo Cautions Ugandans Against Violence Ahead Of 2026 Polls By Sadique BamwitaEntebbe 

The minister of State for Higher Education, Hon. Dr. John  Chrysostom Muyingo, has cautioned Ugandans to desist from violent acts and to remain peaceful as the country prepares for  the 2026 polls. He sounded the warning while officiating the 2025 Feast Day celebrations at St. Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK), held at school premises on Sunday  August 17, 2025.

MINISTER MUYINGO SHARES A MOMENT WITH THE LEADERSHIP OF SMACK

Dr. Muyingo urged Ugandans to be united and reminded them that politics is temporary, but their shared identity as countrymen will never go away.

Minister Dr. Muyingo commended management of  SMACK for its outstanding academic, religious, and disciplinary standards, which have made the school shine for the past decades. 

Minister Muyingo revealed that the government is committed to supporting all traditional schools including SMACK so that they can serve as a benchmark for other institutions.

Papal Nuncio Emeritus Archbishop Augustine Kasujja, who was the main celebrant and preacher of the day, urged catholic faithfuls to spread the gospel of God and do good things to others, and highlighted SMACK’s excellence in various disciplines.

The Headteacher of St. Mary’s college, Kisubi, Bro. Simon Mpanga revealed the upcoming commissioning of two new buildings including a dining complex which has been named after Emeritus Cardinal Emmanuel Wamala and another in honor of former Democratic party  president the Late Paul Kawanga Semogerere who is also an old boy of SMACK.
