MP Odonga weeps: I’ve suffered ridicule, asks Kadaga to handle Akol

By Francis Otucu

Aruu County Member of Parliament Odonga Otto has told parliament sitting Wednesday that he has suffered mockery and pain from his colleague lawmakers.

“I have suffered ridicule as you can see from the laughter from MPs and pain,” he told parliament chaired Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga.

He asked her for intervention.

“I seek your indulgence that this matter is taken to the Committee of Rules and Discipline,” he said, arguing, his voters are angry.

“My people are very angry and we don’t want to take this matter in our hands.”

Odonga’s statement follows his physical fight with Anthony Akol of Kilak.

According to Akol, he slapped Odonga last week in self-defense.

The fight stemmed from Odonga’s appeal to Akol’s voters not to re-elect him MP after he sold land in the area to government at Shs300m.
