A cross section of campaign agents from over 8 sub counties in Budadiri East Sironko district who reportedly broke away from the camp of area MP Ssasaga John have spoken out, and hit him hard following his attacking remarks on a local radio talk show recently.
FDC secretary general Nathan Nandala Mafabi owns Elgon FM based in Mbale city and reports from the Elgon region disclose that he gave free 3 hours airtime every month to MPs like John Ssasaga of Budadiri East (FDC) and John Musila to carry out Educative programs to voters in their respective constituencies.

However, while appearing on Elgon FM recently, Budadiri East MP Ssasaga John allegedly attacked some of his campaigning agents over asking him for a lot of money without considering other people.
Hosted by Ronnie Weswa, MP John Ssasaga said that he is tired of some agents who are demanding a lot of money from him instead of thinking about the communities.
“One person demands 5m from me, money that would help many people in the communities, why should I spend such money giving to individuals because they campaigned for me, I rather give out that money for developmental programs than dishing it out to individuals,” Ssasaga said on air.
He said that there would be 100 people lined up campaigning but at the end of it one person was voted winner, “but at the moment I have resorted to doing developmental programs in Budadiri East like Education, Agriculture and roads network connecting Budadiri East to the outside districts.”
“It is not good to keep on changing members of parliament because before he finalises his projects you vote him, or her out that is wrong,” noted Ssasaga.
His remarks came after over 8 strong campaign agents for the 2021 general elections had asked him to fulfill his promises where he is alleged to have promised cash to his individual agents.
However, his radio talk show pronouncement did not go well with part of his 2021 campaign agents who later talked to us expressing their reactions.
Among those aggrieved and have defected from Ssasaga are Muduku Allan, former councilor Bukise sub county; Namonyo Frank who contested for Budadiri Town council councilor; Kyegulo Manyaku Francis, the current mayor of Budadiri town council; Makanya Sam from Bumalimba sub county and former inner private secretary to Ssasaga John, Laban Wanyala from Masaba sub county; Gidudu dadiri John the LC111 Busulani sub county, one Haruna the LC111 of Namaguli sub county and Nasawali Patrick, the FDC chairman of Bumulisa sub county among others.
Speaking to The Second Opinion Publications, Allan Muduku, the former councilor for Bukise sub county revealed that Ssasaga made the promises during the 2021 general elections to specific campaign agents individually that once he goes through, he would pay them the money.
“Some of us we lost our positions because of Ssasaga, he promised us a lot and vowed to support us, look at Namonyo whom his brother Gidongo fought and lost out but made Ssasaga go through after he had assured all of us to work together but when we reminded him after he had deserted us, instead he ran to the radio and blasted us,” Muduku said.
According to Muduku, all the matters concerning Ssasaga and those demanding him are known by the FDC party top leadership from the party president, the secretary general and all the lower members but he adamantly refused to pay.
He said that when they went to Soroti during the Soroti city East by elections ,matters of Ssasaga failure to pay his agents were discussed and the secretary general Nathan Nandala Mafabi who also hails from Sironko promised to resolve the issues but up to now nothing has been done.

He added that when they demand Ssasaga, he is instead accused of eyeing a PA job.
Muduku revealed that since the 2026 general elections have started blinking, all the affected and aggrieved agents of Ssasaga have started positioning themselves quietly and openly so as to show him the parliament exit come the right time.
“We know who to vote come 2026. We shall not repeat a similar mistake and at the moment our mobilization team with the new candidate is going on to see that Ssasaga exits to represent the voters of Budadiri East in Sironko district,” Muduku Allan pointed out.
