Namilyango College Day Fete set for weekend

Namilyango College, which is one of the oldest traditional schools in Uganda and has a track record of good performance in many fields of professionalism, is set to host its 2024 College Day event.

Intelligence reports reaching our desk indicate that the function that is set for the weekend will bring together all the stakeholders with a view to discussing and celebrating success and achievements attained in the recent past.

We have learned that prime minister Robinah Nabbanja is expected to be the chief guest of the day, while the main celebrant of mass for the day is expected to be the emeritus bishop of Lugazi diocese, Bishop Mathias Sekamanya.

The PTA boss, Eng. Ronald Kato Kayizzi, is expected to give the policy position of the prestigious college, while the headmaster, Constantine Mpuuga Sajjabbi, shall address the gathering about the technical issues arising among other speakers.

The road from Seeta township to the college had been fixed with turmac, and sources say the college, working with the Mukono municipal council authorities, could have worked out modalities for fixing the road.

By the close of Thursday evening, our reporter saw teams of mean-looking men clad in overalls and industrial helmets busy cutting grass, others setting up giant tents, and others painting the road stretch from the main gate entering the college campus.
