NAMIREMBE FIRE: Calm restored; No injuries, death reported

The Police Fire and Rescue team are managing fire at Namirembe Hillside after the boys dormitory caught fire at 10:35am Thursday morning.

Inside sources say the school chairman and the director notified the police who responded right on time.

No deaths nor injuries have been reported but properties worth millions have been destroyed.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman, Patrick Onyango confirmed the incident.

“We are yet to establish the cause of fire. We are investigating the cause of fire,” Onyango said adding that the situation has returned to normalcy.

“The situation is now calm and students addressed and counselled,” Onyango said.
