Namisindwa LCV Hopeful Donates 1,000 Reflector Jackets to Boda Boda Riders

Bwayo Emma, the Namisindwa NRM Male Youth Counselor and Marketing Manager for Elgon FM in Mbale, donated 1,000 reflector jackets to commercial motorcycle riders across 32 stages in the district over the weekend. Emma intends to contest for the Namisindwa LCV seat in the 2026 general election.

The donation, provided by well-wishers supporting Emma’s campaign, is aimed at improving safety and compliance with traffic regulations for boda boda riders by providing them with reflective jackets. Emma emphasized the importance of wearing reflective gear to enhance visibility on the roads.

During meetings with various boda boda riders, Emma encouraged them to participate in government programs to boost their daily incomes and improve their household situations.

Shedrack Magomu, chairperson of the Busulwa Boda Boda stage, expressed gratitude for the donation, noting that Emma was the first to support them in the hilly areas. George Walubengo, chairperson of the Munamba 1 Boda Boda stage, said traffic authorities had previously warned him about the lack of reflective jackets, and he praised Emma for addressing the concerns of the boda boda community.

The race for the Namisindwa LCV seat has attracted five contestants, including two councilors challenging the incumbent, Mr. Jackson Wakweika. The other candidates include Khisa Joseph, Councilor for Bukhaweka Town Council; retired medic Mango Situma; primary teacher Patrick Wataka, who recently resigned; and Bwayo Emma.
