Power generator, Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited has revealed spokesman, Simon Kasyate has resigned from “this position with effect from 17th July, 2020 after 4 monumental years of dedicated service at Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited.”
In a notice, UEGCL wished him well. “Our best wishes to Simon in his endeavors ahead.”
Until his resignation, Kasyate was the Head of Communication and Corporate Affairs at the company.
But while there, the ambitious lad continued firing shots at greener ‘pastures’. His ‘missed’ shots include that at Uganda Tourism Board where he ogled at Executive Director position. He also curled his PR skills at Parliament of Uganda for the position of Director Communications but the job could only take one man – Chris Obore.
However, his resignation comes at a time when top PR and Communication jobs are at both Parliament of Uganda and Kampala Capital City Authority. Current holders of these positions are in acting capacities. This, after Obore was fired from the position and resignation of Peter Kaujju respectively.
Whereas he remains employed with Capital Radio Limited where he is host of Desert Island Discs, Parliament and KCCA jobs remain calling.
Kasyate has previously worked as Corporate Affairs Manager Eskom Uganda Limited -an electricity generation company. Before that, he worked as Press and Information officer at the European Union Delegation in Kampala.
