As the country readies self for a scientific campaign and elections, following the release of the electoral roadmap, many continue to raise concerns over the practicability of the process.
These concerns are not only coming from the opposition but those in the ruling party as well.
Gerald Simbatya is the Publicity Secretary, National Resistance Movement for Sironko district. Like many others, he is worried about the future of 2021 polls.
In fact, his worry has been hit further with the fact that an online poll carried out in Budadiri East attracted only 13 voters.
In the poll, Julius Nakiyi scooped 9 votes, an equivalent of 69.23%. He was followed by prominent KCCA lawyer, Richard Maserejje with 2 votes (15 .38%). Others are; incumbent MP Vincent Woboya with just a vote ( 7.69%), Sasagah Godfrey Wanzira (1 vote) while Kiwungulo John Kivebudadiri and another prominent city lawyer, Rogers Musalu failed to get votes.
But Simbatya says if the online poll is a reflection of what is to happen in 2021, then the incumbent may have a lot of work to do, if he is to return to parliament.
Nakiyi a professional accountant and has gained a lot of support from many sub counties including his home town Bumalimba, Budadiri town council, Zesui, Bugitimwa , Bukyambi, Bukise , Busita and Kikobero . Nakayi is also said to have strengthened his presecence in areas like Butandiga, Buhugu, Bumasifa, Masaba and Busulani.
