By Our Reporter

Pallisa,; Amidst  excitement of new archdeaconry, thousands of Christians turned up to witness as 159 candidates achieved their confirmation sacrament at Agule in Palisa district.

The Function presided over by the Bishop of Bukedi diocese reverend Samuel Egesa Bogere who announced the creation of new Agule archdeaconry which will be caved out of Pallisa diocese.

Bogere said the new archdeaconry will take off on 01/02/2022 after the house of the archdeacon is completed.

Reverend Charles Okiror the diocesan secretary said he has organized documents to forward them for the declaration of Agule as an archdeaconry and Nyaguo as new parish and deliver formally to relevant offices.

Upon the  Bishop pronouncement,  the  new stations Agule archdeaconry and Nyaguo parish will  have an archdeacon and  a priest posted before the end of the year so that they handle services at the beginning of the archdeaconry.

John Paul Oiki the parish priest of Agule said it was not easy to mobilize resources during lockdown but the taskforce committee led by Charles Otai Emasenik did a good job and met most of the requirements needed.

“I give glory to God for touching the hearts of many that I cannot enumerate for the success of the mission that has been giving people sleepless nights”, Otai said.

Otai said the diocese tasked them to buy a ca,r build a good house and  have an account of  not less than 10m  before Agule could  qualify  to be granted archdeaconry status.

However, turning to immorality Bishop Bogere cautioned the youth from getting into sexual act which has exposed them to not only breaking the 10 commandments like adultery, failure to respect parents and deceitfulness but also put their future at risk.

“I read from the media that over 1000 girls along the tarmac road of Tirinyi to Kumi via Pallisa and Pallisa Kamonkoli got pregnant and the Arab contractor’s workers are alleged suspects but I  primarily blame the victims and their parents. I thought that  these girls were  raped but I was fully informed they go themselves to men,” Bogere said.
