Deputy Executive Director, Uganda Media Centre is dead. Family sources say he died early Tuesday morning from Mulago Hospital. Government spokesman, Ofwono Opondo confirmed: “I hereby with deep sorrow regret to announce the death of my Deputy @ShabanBantariza that occurred early this morning at Mulago Hospital where he had been in admission since Sunday with hypertension.”

Whereas government says Col. Bantariza may have died of hypertension, insiders say he succumbed to the deadly Coronavirus.
