This, after she dropped off a police patrol car while being whisked to a crime scene on May 8, 2020.
Ithira was on her way to settle a matter of domestic violence between Patrick Otim (RIP) and his in-law, Moses Okwakol.
The police say he’s currently on treatment at Joint Clinic, Soroti.
THE CASE
On April 10, 2020, Otim (now deceased) and wife Petwa Atipo were involved in a physical fight, an action that led to their separation. As a result, Atipo took to her brother’s home. Her brother is Okwakol, a resident of Moru Village, Bugondo Parish, Bugondo Sub-County, Serere District. Upon reaching there, insiders say she briefed Okwakol on their fight. It did not take long. Okwakol’s house was attacked and set on fire. The matter was taken up for investigation. To trace the attacker, the police introduced a canine was introduced at the scene and it led investigators to Otim’s house. Fresh violence between the two families broke out. Investigators say Okwakol assaulted Otim to near death. He was rushed to Apapai Health Centre IV where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
REVENGE, DEATH
The following morning of (May 9, 2020), relatives of the deceased trekked from Ogolai village to attack the village of the in-laws, in revenge. They raided animals and stole other property. The group of attackers moved in different directions. A group of three (Otim Vincent, Okurut Amos and Oguti Lazarus) remained behind as their colleagues withdrew. However, the three were attacked by the villagers and one of them, Oguti, 36, was lynched. His body was taken to Serere Health Center IV for postmortem.
