Katooke Police Station is holding their own for attempted murder Vide S.D 21/31/05/20.
This, after a 9pm May 31, 2030 incident at Kyarusozi Old, Kyarusozi Town Council in which No. 29660 D/Cpl Denis Byaruhanga shot at a one Tom who was at the time walking back home together with his wife.
It is alleged that while the officers of Kyarusozi were preparing for a night patrol, Byaruhanga crossed the road to his home to pick a gun.
However, on his way back, he found his victim with his wife withdrawing from town to their home.
“He asked them why they were moving at night but they instead told him to shoot them. Byaruhanga shot in the ground but the bullet later jumped injuring Tom in the back,” a source at Kyarusozi said.
As a result, he was rushed to Kyarusozi hospital but later referred to Buhinga regional referral hospital as the bullet remained in the body.
Against the above background, Byaruhanga fled the scene before reporting himself to Katooke Police Station where he is currently detained.
The police say the scene has been assessed but also revisited Monday morning and that Byaruhanga’s gun, UG POL UE 73331998 has been recovered from him.
